Spring Eggstravaganza is becoming Spring Extravaganza in 2013. Why should the eggs have all the fun? Celebrate with us on a day of fun to celebrate the beginning of spring with a conservation twist. Held each year on the Saturday before Easter Sunday, Spring Extravaganza celebrates the coming of spring with many exciting activities and surprises that are themed around recycling, rejuvenation and rebirth. Guests of all ages will participate in springtime activities, workshops, games and crafts, and much more!

Celebrate the Derby in style at Art of the Race – Kentucky Derby. Guests can enjoy the museum’s fine art exhibits, delight in derby art, and see the “greatest two minutes in sports” displayed on a 53-foot screen.

Brew up something special this summer at Art & Ale. Join us for world-class beers, tantalizing eats and live music. Tickets include bottomless food & drink samples, a collector’s mug, and entertainment. We welcome guests to peruse the fine art galleries and interactive exhibits during this sell-out event.

Brought to life in celebration of our new annual exhibit, Wildlife Experience in Art, we introduce Wildlife Art & Wine - Enjoy some of the best wines from around the world, sample delicacies from local restaurants and watch art come alive as these amazing regional artists demonstrate their skills and reveal insights into the work featured in our galleries.

The Wildlife Experience is gearing up for a family friendly day of outdoor adventure, hands-on experiences and adventure learning including air rifles, archery, rafting, fly fishing and much more! Admission is only $1 and you can test your skills at a variety of adventure activities located throughout the museum grounds. For additional purchase, there will be delicious festival themed food including kettle corn and Sno Cones and wildlife films in our 3D Extreme Screen Theater.

Creep, crawl or slither into Trick-or-Treat OFF the Street, a Halloween celebration with plenty of ghoulish surprises for children of all ages. This event features a variety of activities including creepy crawly crafts, ghost stories and a haunted graveyard.

The North Pole has informed The Wildlife Experience that Santa Claus will be making four stops at the museum in December to enjoy a breakfast with you and yours and to jot down everyone’s wish list!

Kids Bowl VIII is the children’s interactive sporting event of the year, held on the Saturday preceding Super Bowl Sunday. Score a goal at this fun and exciting event featuring sports themed interactive games and, new for 2013, outdoor adventure sports activities inside the museum. Kids can participate in the fun and games as well as crafts and a few new exciting surprises.

Take part in hands-on workshops, such as archery, camp cooking, fishing and more! Learn more about the world around you and abroad during a lecture series called Nature Nights, led by experts and specialists.

Have a night on the town, old west style! This popular new film series begins with saloon style whiskey drinks and BBQ appetizers. Guests then grab popcorn and take their seats for a special presentation of a timeless western.
