GlobeologyAsian HighlandsAdventurers enter the Asian Highlands biome, which displays the splendor of both the highland and lowland environments of Asia. The high peaks of the Himalayas soar over visitor's heads as an animatronic Sherpa introduces them to a "top of the world" story that illustrates that some of the most inaccessible habitats are not pristine due to man's disturbance and negligence. Visitors will also learn about the human and tiger struggle that currently affects this part of the world. Here, tigers are protected despite their increasing numbers, but their natural habitat is diminishing due to development, creating a close-quarters conflict between humans and tigers. As an additional reward in this biome, guests can interact with an animatronic specimen of a panda bear, an iconic image of Asiatic wildlife and current endangered and protected species.<< Back to Globeology  |
